Chapter 1

V1    will–2307 thelema a determination i.e. active choice, (special purpose, decree), desire, pleasure.   What one prefers, will to do or have done.
faithful–4103 pistos trustful.  Worthy of belief, trust, or confidence, faithful.  Faithful in duty to oneself and to others, of true fidelity.   Especially of servants, ministers, who are faithful in the performance of duty….. Ephesians 1:1; 6:21-Tychicus, faithful minister in the Lord…

V2 Grace 5485––charis––
especially the divine influence upon the heart, and its reflection in the life; including gratitude.
Grace, particularly that which causes joy, pleasure, gratification
…helpers of your joy:  for by faith you stand 2Corinthians 1:24
Fruit of the Spirit Galatians 5:22
 Joy 5479 chara––cheerfulness, i.e. calm delight
Grace in reference to the external form or manner, particularly of persons meaning gracefulness, elegance, of words or discourses as graciousness, agreeableness, acceptableness
Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
Colossians 4:6 Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer every man.

Grace in reference to disposition, attitude toward another, favor, goodwill, benevolence
The grace of Christ in providing salvation for us-Acts 15:11.  Also spoken of grace which God exercises toward us, the unmerited favor which He shows in saving us from sin Romans 3:24, 5:1-2

Peace 1515––eirene
to join; prosperity:––one, peace, quietness, rest + set at one again––not being apart or disjointed; to join together with others to make harmony–a symphony
quietness––freedom from noise, agitation, disturbance, or excitement.  Stillness, tranquility
 a state of peace,
 opposite of war–peace of mind
health, welfare, prosperity, every kind of good.
Luke 1:79:  the way of peace means the way of happiness
Luke 2:14 and Luke 10:6 means Son of Peace–the One worthy of it; the One Who gives it.

Hebrews 4:11 Labor therefore to enter into rest lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief (should be disobedience).
Labor—4704 spoudazo (spoo-dad-zo), to use speed, i.e. make an effort, be prompt and earnest; give diligence to, endeavor
Prompt––Ready and quick to act as occasion demands responding instantly; alert; prompt in obedience.  Done or rendered readily or immediately; given without delay or hesitation.
Earnest––Characterized by, or proceeding from, as intense, and serious state of mind; not light, flippant, playful, or jesting; as, earnest attention; and earnest tone or plea.  Of a grave or important nature; not trivial.
    Philippians 2:9-15 …work out your own salvation… (v12)
Work out 2716 to work fully, i.e. accomplish, to finish, fashion.  From two words 2596 kata—toward, of motion, of time; and 2038 to toil as a task, occupation, commit, do, be engaged in or with, commit.

Rest—2663 katapausis (kat-ap-ow-sis) reposing down, i.e. abode—rest.  Make to cease.  The act of resting.  Also of the rest or fixed abode, dwelling

If a person has received Jesus as Lord and Savior, they must DO IT.  This (this verse-Philippians 2:9-15, v12) does not mean to make ones own way to Heaven, it means they must implement God’s Word into their lives and DO IT.  The rest comes as a person “works” for it; as the person implements God’s Word in their lives, as they grow in grace and in His Word, as they learn to do this and put Him first, then the rest comes.  2 Timothy 2:15 Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth.

All the New Testament letters, the Pauline Epistles, start this way:  "Grace be to you and peace from God our Father and from The Lord Jesus Christ." Grace is always required first before peace because for peace to happen there must be a change in the heart and life of a person.  No matter what life-style a person lives it can be changed by God through Jesus Christ by being Born Again.  Peace comes from God and must be received, and can only be maintained through Jesus:  walking with Him by the Word and prayer.

V3 We are blessed with ALL spiritual blessings.

…in the Heavenlies   2032––above the sky, heaven, spoken of those who dwell in heaven, celestial bodies, the sun, moon.  Of the lower heavens, the sky or air as the seat of evil.  Spoken of the kingdom of heaven and whatever pertains to it

Jesus was taken up to Heaven  Luke 24:50-53, Mark 16:19-20, Acts 1:9-11
Jesus went up to Heaven but we are in Christ:  Ephesians––in Christ, in Him, etc.
Jesus is in us:  1 Corinthians 13:5, Galatians 2:20, Ephesians 3:17, Colossians 1:27

God pronounces blessings (eulogy, verbal blessing).  He makes it from His throne and it is heard in the highest Heaven—His Home, also the place where the devil and demons are, and on earth.  His Words always come to pass.  We should receive what He says.  Most of it is written in His Word––the Bible.  Believe it and receive it!  Then you will see needs met, direction given, protection,
