Look at some of the things God did!!!

We, just recently, was heading to Shipshewana Indiana for a quilting meet 'n greet.  We left early to do some sight seeing here in lower Michigan and I wanted to share with you some pictures I took at one spot in particular.   These scenes reminds me of God goodness for us.

"He (the Lord) loves righteousness and judgment:  the earth is FULL of the goodness of the Lord" Psalm 33: 5
"You (the Lord) visits the earth, and waters it:  You greatly enrich it with the river of God, which is full of water:  You prepare them corn, when ou have so provided for it." Psalm 65: 9
"Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.  God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear Him." Psalm 67: 6-7
"He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass; as showers that water the earth." Psalm 72: 6

"For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse..." Romans 1:20

Enjoy!!

Another Recipe from the Prewitt Kitchen!!

Macaroni-Tuna Salad

I love making up my own recipes!  I am a great cook! and here is another recipe I want to share with you all.  I meet with a group of ladies to sew once a month.  One lady in particular cannot have any acids such as vinegar, lemon juice and other acidic foods.  I wanted to make this salad and had the thought to replace mayonnaise with olive oil.  WOW!  I won't make another macaroni salad with mayonnaise!  This was so tasty!  I hope you enjoy it.  This recipe is for a large serving bowl and can be modified.

4 cups of macaroni covered with water and cooked until softened-not mushy
Drain the water in a colander and let set there while cooking...
5-6 eggs.  Cover with water and bring to boil, then turn off stove cover pan
let set for 10 minutes.  Drain water, cool with cold water and remove
            shell.
Put macaroni in large serving bowl.  Add chopped eggs and the following ingredients:
1-1/2 cups peas
1-1/2 cups corn
1-1/2 cups lima beans
The 3 above can be from frozen and thawed with the hot water from
             draining the macaroni and eggs.
1 red sweet pepper, chopped
1 yellow pepper, chopped
1 orange pepper, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
Olive oil, pour over enough to coat all ingredients.

You can add other vegetables if you like, such as carrots, onion, broccoli--the list goes on--add whatever you would like.  The "secret" ingredient is the olive oil.  A great replacement to mayonnaise or salad dressing.
Enjoy!!

July PAM

Because of so many pictures in the directions of the down-loads for the July PAM many people could not (or maybe wasn't patient enough--that counts too!!) open the downloads.  So I am adding the tutorial here on the web-page.  Both versions of the July PAM is now posted on the website as a tutorial below.  First is version 2 the under it is version 1.  The patterns and the directions are also in download format to the right under "Link to My Patterns".  These patterns are for your personal use, to give as gifts.  You can also sell what you make but please do not sell my patterns or claim them as your own.  You can post a link to my website for others to down load.  Thank you so much.

July Placemat Versions 2 PAM

July Placemat pattern Version 2
Pattern is a download on the right side of this page.
These are my own patterns.  Please
do not share them, sell them, or
claim them as your own.  You may
sell what you make from my
patterns if you wish.  You may share
the link to my website:  http://

I have made two versions of this
July pattern.  For each version you will need the following to make one:
1 fat quarter white
1 fat quarter red
1 fat quarter blue (1FQ of blue will make 3 of either placemat.)

With large triangle pattern cut:
1 blue
3 red
4 white
Lay out alternately like above picture.

Place a white piece on top of a color piece and place pattern template on top.  Insert pin where the two dotted lines come together.

Sew down on the right side of each two.  Sew down to where the pin is inserted.  DO NOT sew off the end of the unit just to the pin.
Press first on the wrong side, pressing all the seams to the darker fabric.
Then press on the top side to set the seams.
Now  put two unit right sides together.  Make sure you are keeping the colors in order.  Move the seam to one side and insert a pin at the end of the first seam--where the 2 dotted lines came together on the pattern.  Now sew on the right side from top to where the pin is inserted.

Again press all seams in the same directions.  Then press on the top to set seams.

Put two units right sides together.  Move the seams aside and place pin at the end of the seam.

                Sew to the pin.

Now do the same to the other side of this unit.

Press all the seams in the same direction.

When done right the center makes a pretty flower.  Arrange the center and press.  This also allows for the piece to lay flat and not bulge in the center.

Now cut backing and batting.  This is a good place to use batting pieces if necessary.  If you do put batting together and use a large zigzag.

Cut binding 2-1/2 inches wide and 60 inches long.  With wrong sides together sew on from the back.  Bring fold to the front and you can either machine stitch or hand stitch down.

Your version 2 of this pattern is done!  Enjoy!!

The WONDERFUL Thing!!

Romans 1: 18-31 and 2: 1-2   Now I must say--READ TO THE END!!  It really IS a wonderful thing!

"For the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness, because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath showed  it unto them.  For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:  because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.  Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the Glory of the Incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things.  Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lust of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves:  who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, Who is Blessed forever. Amen.

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections:  for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:  and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was necessary.

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, badness (malignity), full of envy, murder, contention (quarreling), deceit, malignity, whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenant-breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful.

Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, no only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whosoever you are that judges: for wherein you judgest another, you condemn yourself; for you that judge do the same things.  But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things."  Romans 1: 18-31 and 2: 1-2

Here are some pretty harsh words!  So what is so WONDERFUL?  This is:

"BUT God commends His Love toward us, in that, while we were YET sinners, Christ died for us!!"  Romans 5:8

One of the meanings of "commends" is to set in place.  He set His love in place toward us!  Now LISTEN TO THIS!:

According as He has chosen us in Him (Jesus) before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in Love:  having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the GOOD PLEASURE of His WILL, to the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He has made us ACCEPTED in the Beloved (Jesus).  In Whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sin, according to the riches of His grace;  wherein He has abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; having made know unto us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He has purposed in Himself...  Ephesians 1: 4-9

What does all this mean?  It means that He knows us so well--our thoughts, our hearts, our intents and non-intents; that He paid the price to redeem us anyway!!  It means that before God laid the foundations of this world He knew He was going to make us and that we would need a Savior!  He had planned--even BEFORE He created ANYTHING that He would redeem us, forgive us and make us all new in Jesus-the Light and Love, He would accept us in Him!

"For God SO loved the world (not the earth but the people--every individual!  And that means YOU!), that He GAVE His only begotten Son, that whosoever (you and me) believes in Him should NOT die (go to eternal hell), but have everlasting LIFE!

For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved!

He that believes on Him is NOT condemned:  but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the Name (Jesus) of the only begotten Son of God.

And this is the condemnation that Light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than Light, because their deeds were evil.  For everyone that does evil hates the Light, neither comes to the Light, best his deeds should be discovered.  But he that does Truth comes to the Light, that his deeds may be manifest, that they are done in God."  John 3: 16-21

Jesus justified us--or made us in right-standing with God the Father:
"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:  By who also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the flory of God.  And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also:  know that tribulation works patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope:  and hope makes us not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.  For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

How do you receive this New Life Jesus has for you?  Like this:

"But What does it say?  The Word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart:  that is the Word of Faith, which we preach;  That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead you shall be SAVED!!  Romans 10 : 9-10   "THEREFORE if ANYONE (that is absolutely ANY ONE!!) be in Christ, he is a NEW creation:  old things are PASSED AWAY; behold ALL things are become NEW!!"  2 Corinthians 5 : 17  ALL things are become NEW!  Your past is absolutely GONE and God will NOT hold them against you any longer!!  HURRAY!!

I encourage you to do this right now.  Make Jesus Lord of your life and He will give you His Life.  He loves you so much to do all this for you!!!  You are worth saving!!!

July Place-mat for the PAM version one.

July Placemat
Pattern is a down load on the right side of page.
These are my own patterns.  Please do not share them, sell them, or claim them as your own.  You may sell what you make from my patterns if you wish.  You may share the link to my website:  http://michiganloonyloomer.blogspot.com/
I have made two versions of this July pattern.  For each version you will need the following to make one:

1 fat quarter white
1 fat quarter red
1 fat quarter blue (1FQ of blue will make 3 of either placemat.)

VERSION ONE:
Using the narrower triangle and keep the fabric face up.  Because of the angle of the template you will need to cut as follows:
6 red with template face up
7 white with template face down
2 blue with template face up
1 blue with template face down

This is the way the pieces look laid out.  The hole will disappear after sewn together.

Starting with the very top blue and white, and with every each two (the first blue and white, the next red and white and so on) put right sides together.

Use 1/4 inch on all seams.  Sew down the straight side (not the angled side) of the pieces.  Do this for each two.  This will be the center seam of each two piece unit.

Press all the seams the same directions!   First on the back side then on the top side.

Put two units together in order according to the layout picture above.

Using the larger template on
top and  mark where the two sides of the dotted line come together insert a pin.  Keep pin there and remove template.  It helps to have a small head pin.

Put pin through the back unit as well.  Moving previous seams out of the way, sew from the top to where the pin is inserted.  Press all the seams one way, first on the back and then on the front to set the seams.

Place two units together and keeping the seams aside, place pin through the two.  Sew down on the right side still keeping the previous seams out of the way.  Stop where the pin inserted.  Now do this to the left side.

Press seams all the same way.  Press on right side Put two units together.

Open the unit and press all seams in one direction.  Open the center where all seams come together and press--all in one direction.  If done right this will make a “flower”…something like this to the left.  The reason for doing this is to eliminate a bulge in the center.  This makes the center to lay flat.

Almost done!  Now cut your batting and backing and layer.

I did not quilt this but you can if you wish.  This would be good to use the stitch in the ditch.

Cut binding 2-1/2 inches wide and 60 inches long.  Fold binding in half long ways with wrong side together.  Sew of from the back, turn to the front and top stitch down.  Now your first version of the July Placemat is done!

The pattern and directions for versions 1 and 2 are down-loads to the right side of this page.
